In the team roping event two riders try to lasso a steer. The "header" must first lasso the steer by two horms, by one horn and the nose or by the neck. The header then turns the steer and the "heeler" attempts to lasso both hind legs. A time penalty is assessed if only one leg is caught. The rider in this picture is the heeler. If you look closely at the steer's right horn you will see the header's pink rope around the horn. The pink rope is also visible behind the steer. This is not a legal catch for a header. This event is open to competition by both women and men.
