This has been one of my all-time favorite airplanes from the Cold War era called the B-58 Hustler. It was a HUGE gas hog and they couldn't keep them in the air for very long hence the big tank under the belly.

The Convair B-36 Peacemaker is a strategic bomber that was built by Convair and operated by the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1959. The B-36 is the largest mass-produced piston-engined aircraft ever built. It had the longest wingspan of any combat aircraft ever built, at 230 ft. The B-36 was the first bomber capable of delivering any of the nuclear weapons in the U.S. arsenal from an internal bomb bay without aircraft modifications. Steam locomotive #2355 was built for the Southern Pacific Railroad in October, 1912, by Baldwin Locomotive Works, in Philadelphia. Locomotive #2355 is a Class T-31, ten-wheeler, 4-6-0, built as a dual service locomotive for smaller passenger and freight trains. A typical use for the 4-6-0, was in commuter train service, as they could accelerate trains to track speed from the many passenger stops.

The #2355 was the third locomotive in a series of ten identical 4-6-0 locomotives constructed for the Southern Pacific with the Class T-31 designation. There is only one other example of the T-31 class that survived, the # 2353, on exhibit in Campo, California. The # 2355 operated several million miles during its 45 years of service, until it was relegated to standby service as the Southern Pacific and other railroads were converting to diesel power. Southern Pacific retired #2355 in late 1957 and it was set for scrapping when it was given to the City of Mesa for exhibit. A donation ceremony was held on April 12, 1958.

This old Baldwin Locomotive once served the local lumber industry, hauling huge tree trunks from the forest to the mills. Constructed in Pennsylvania in 1911, the train came to Arizona in 1917 when it was purchased by the Arizona Lumber and Timber Company. It passed through various owners until it reached The Stone Forest Company, which folded in 1993. A group of residents, led by Malcomb Mackay, maintained fond memories of the locomotive and raised funds to purchase and restore the relic. It now stands restored next to the Flagstaff AMTRAK station. The locomotive is also attached to a log flatcar. In 1995, the City of Flagstaff purchased Old Two Spot and dedicated it as a monument in 1999. The name of the train has an unusual origin. The train crew once hung water bags from the cab windows, which wore down the numbers on the side of the train. According to stories, the number 25 on the train became a two, with a worn spot where the five was embossed, hence the name Old Two Spot.
