About this spot
The view of Horseshoe Bend is not to be missed. Here, perched on the top of canyon wall, you peer down on the Colorado River as curves more than 180 degrees. The green water of the river (clear and cold as it emerges from the base of Glen Canyon Dam several miles upstream from Horseshoe Bend) stunningly contrasts with the red and orange sandstone canyon walls. Just don't expect to be alone if you visit, the spot is extremely popular. Luckily, there is plenty of room along the canyon wall to set up a tripod.
