About this spot
Selegie House is an old HDB housing estate launched back in 1963. Back then, it was the tallest HDB estate comprising of both shops and residential apartments. While its 20-storey flats may seem modest by today’s standards, it was a big achievement back in the day. Like Hong Lim and Bras Basah Complexes, Selegie House was among the early housing estates built in the Central Business District to help post-war Singapore handle an expanding population.

More Information
Singapore is also famous for its government-built public housing, which takes care of the vast majority of Singaporeans’ housing needs.
