About this spot
This is one of those crazy, nonsensical, places that have somehow become iconic to Seattle. The main features of the park are an orange, 19 foot tall and 44 foot wide, cowboy hat and a pair of huge cowboy boots. The Hat 'n' Boots were part of a very popular western themed gas station built in 1954. The hat was the station and the boots were the men's and women's restrooms. When the service station closed, the hat and boots were moved to Oxbow Park, where they remain today. This bizarre attraction brings in a steady stream of visitors, both tourists and locals.
