About this spot
“The Dolls’ Hospital” was founded in 1890 by Luigi Grassi, known for his moustache rolled upward and his curious tuft called bananina put at the centre of the head.
The Hospital, since then, has been caring for dolls and toys of children from all over Naples – Italy and the world. It works just like a recovery room where it is possible to find any kind of toys (whether a doll or a puppy) of every age and type. Like in a real Hospital, the little patients silently wait for their turn to be repaired.
It’s a hospital, because here talented artisans bring back to “health” damaged dolls, old and new. And it isn’t called a hospital only metaphorically, you know: there are stretchers and wards, operating rooms and receptions.
