There is a small valley behind Kotor’s defence walls which you can only see when you reach the San Giovanni fortress. There are some ruined buildings, the small church of Sveti Jovan and a mountain pasture where locals sell their produce. Away from the hustle and bustle of Kotor, this is a sanctuary of peace, where you can pick mullberies listen to birdsong and relax in the shade of the trees.
