Montenegro Kotor Sea Gate

About this spot
This beautifully arched gate to the city has been the main entrance to Kotor town for centuries. You can see some historical proof of this in the Winged lion, a symbol of the former Venetian rulers of the town. Kotor is also the only place (that I know of) in former Yugoslavia that didn’t remove the socialist symbols; see the coat of arms of Yugoslavia and Tito’s famous saying “Tuđe nećemo - svoje ne damo” which means “We don't want what doesn’t belong to us, but what’s ours is ours.”
