About this spot
The underground metro station was opened on October 6, 1982 to extend metro line 1B from Beekkant to Sint-Guido. Since the metro network was revised in 2009, metro line 5 runs through this station. The station was named the d'Aumalestraat, one of the streets that opens onto the rest square.

On the walls of the platform hall you can admire a photomontage by Jean-Paul Laenen all around, making the traveler imagine himself outside on the street. The artist, together with members of the STIB photo club, made an impression of the area surrounding the station during the construction of the metro line. With an area of 600 m², Metrorama 78 is the largest photo montage in the world.
