About this spot
Ashway Rocks lie in some
of the wildest and most dramatic parts of the Peak District, high up on Saddleworth Moor.
Ashway Rocks is a small gritstone outcrop
with elevated views over both Dove Stone
Reservoir and Yeoman Hay Reservoir, with the well profiled shape of Alderman’s Hill set as a backdrop in the distance.
Within easy reach of Manchester, this area is the perfect place to explore for the metropolitan hiker. However, the area is often overlooked by most and is worth the trip out to these far reaches to garner a bit of peace and quiet from the usual honeypots.
