The Arc de Triomf (or Arco de Trionfo) in Barcelona is a famous monument that stands as a symbol of the city's architectural and historical heritage. It is located at the northern end of the Passeig de Lluís Companys, a wide promenade that leads to the Parc de la Ciutadella. The Arc de Triomf was built as the main entrance arch for the 1888 Barcelona World Exposition (Exposición Universal de Barcelona) and was designed by the Catalan architect Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas.
