About this spot
Lumsdale is a hidden valley tucked away between Matlock and Tansley. Bentley
Brook is the heart of the dale. The gushing stream rushes down, past abandoned
Arkwright Mills, cascading over many drops. This creates some of the most impressive waterfalls within Derbyshire and the Peak District. This area is a real hidden gem with four distinct waterfalls.

The area is picturesque, it is a deep wooded gorge, lined with stone ruins, Arkwright buildings, waterfalls, a mill pond and water wheels. The area is now protected by the Arkwright Society to preserve this unique mixture of industrial heritage and natural beauty.
