About this spot
The Monsal Trail used to be a railway that
linked London to Manchester using the Midland Railway. It cuts through various hillsides and towers above Monsal Dale by crossing over the iconic Monsal Viaduct. You can only imagine what it would have been like to travel on this journey as the beautiful countryside passed by.

Now though, we’re constrained to a slower pace with the re-opening of the tunnels in 2011. You can walk or ride all the way from Bakewell to Buxton. The tunnels provide a photographic
opportunity for something truly unique.
