About this spot
Froggatt Edge is a long gritstone edge that sits on the cusp of a geologic boundary. It transitions from the gritstone of the Dark Peak to the limestone of the White Peak. The edge forms part of the gritstone edges horseshoe joining onto Curbar Edge where the boundary between the two appears almost invisible. The edge towers above its namesake village of Froggatt, which runs along the river Derwent, and dense woods line the slopes before meeting the imposing cliff faces.
Froggatt Edge is smaller, lower and quieter than its sibling, Curbar Edge. But it makes a good chance to capture some less seen images and to explore the whole diversity of the area.
