About this spot
The church at Wiggenhall St. Peter is an atmospheric ruin on the banks of the Great Ouse river, in the flat landscape south of King's Lynn. The church was left to ruin when a relief channel for the river was created, essentially cutting it off down the end of a dead-end road. For many years, ivy slowly took over, but today, the Norfolk Historic Churches Trust keep the shell of the building relatively well preserved.
