The Middle Peninsula to the north of Skye is called Waternish after the Gaelic Bhatarnais derived from vadn, the Old Norse for water.
The focal point of the peninsula is the popular harbour settlement called Stein. This lovely little spots offers everything from sea trips, museums, hotels to Michelling star restaurant. Depending on your schedule this small area offers and excellent opportunity for sunset and aurora photography.
