Vøringsfossen is reportedly the best know waterfall in Norway. It is located where the Bjoreio River dramatically drops off the Hardangervidda plateau 182 meters into a box canyon . Technically, Vøringsfossen is the main waterfall at the site. However, several other waterfalls also drop into the canyon, truly making the site spectacular.
