About this spot
Wipperkotten is the only original grinding mill on the river Wupper. It is a double cottage complex from the 17th c. Independent home workers still work in the smaller outer area. The hydroelectric power plant is still used to drive the grinding points and is maintained by the grinders. It stands as testimony to Solingen's industrial history.
