About this spot
Hrastovec is a large castle on a small hill near the highway regional road from Maribor to Lenart . It is surrounded by fields and forests and little pond. Parts of the castle date back to medieval times. After World War II, the castle was the site of an internment camp run by the Yugoslav secret police for people accused of collaborating with the Germans. The castle is not open to the public.
