About this spot
The Tom McCall Preserve, also often referred to locally as the Rowena Plateau, is one of the premier spring wildflower sites in Oregon. The preserve, owned by The Nature Conservancy, has two main trails. The shorter, Plateau Trail, is the focus of this spot description.

The preserve is located on a plateau above the Columbia River. In addition to the wildflower show, the area is known for its unusual mound-and-swale topography, which is very distinctive when viewed from above.
