About this spot
Sitting on a headland (actually now an island) jutting out from the North Cornwall coast Tintagel castle is believed to have been a place of settlement since the Dark Ages. The recently opened suspension bridge that connects the Gatehouse Courtyard to the Island Court Yard, not only means one no longer has to walk down and up steep wooden stairs to get to the castle, it is also photogenic.
