About this spot
Labyrinth is an impressive permanent steel sculpture based in a former coal mine designed in 2015 by Gijs Van Vaerenbergh for the tenth anniversary of C-mine arts centre. You can take a unique wander through 1 km of steel corridors and discover numerous spaces that allow you to experience the environment from new angles.
Behind the installation is the art and architect duo Gijs Van Vaerenbergh, the young designers who created the 'see-through church' in Borgloon. The duo chose an installation in the form of a maze, because mazes are timeless and have evolved over time in the role they play. Ranging from challenges that people had to overcome in order to survive, to adventure courses. People like to get lost… Do you?
