About this spot
The Great Belt Bridge (Storebæltsbroen), or the Great Belt fixed link, is a crucial structure that connects the Danish islands of Zealand and Funen. This bridge, operational since 1998, was designed by COWI A/S, Ramboll, and Dissing+Weitling and is the only land route from Copenhagen and Sweden to Europe. It forms part of the Great Belt, the largest of the three Danish Straits, connecting the Baltic Sea to the Kattegat strait and the Atlantic Ocean. This important infrastructure piece, managed by A/S Storebælt, facilitates significant inter-European connectivity.
