About this spot
The stelae were created and erected by the sculptor and artist Ulrich Rückriem (*1938). Nearby, there is also the Chlodwig Stele. This is meant to commemorate the Battle of Zülpich in 496 between the Franks and the Alemanni, which is believed to have taken place there. The Chlodwig Stele stands as a reminder of this historical event, which also marks the conversion of the Frankish King Clovis to Christianity.
