Shoot with care
This is an active market, busy with people both working and shopping. Take care when shooting not to inhibit shoppers.

About this spot
The St Lawrence Market has been open in one form or another from 1803. Historically, there has been a North Market and a South Market, divided by Front Street. The South Market is located inside a building south of Front Street which dates back to 1845, though portions of the building are newer, when the building was the Toronto City Hall (until 1899).

The South Market contains two levels with over 120 specialty vendors with fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood, baked goods, cheeses, as well as non-food items.

Today, the North Market, traditionally the location of the Saturday's Farmers Market, is being redeveloped, and the farmers market has moved to as temporary building south of the South Market. An antiques market is held on Sundays.
