There are signs along the boardwalk advising visitors to stay on the trail. Besides fragile vegetation, there is the possibility of unexpected tidal waves from calving icebergs as you get closer to the shoreline.
About this spot
The Sermermiut World Heritage Trail is a "must do" if you visit Ilulissat. It offers breathtaking views of Disko Bay. The trail is short ...1 hour roundtrip. There is a boardwalk the length of the hike making it accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. At the end of the trail you can pop up onto a cliff for views out over the icefjords.
