Namsan Mountain, also known as Namsan Park, is a famous landmark in Seoul, South Korea. "Namsan" means "South Mountain," since it's located towards the southern part of the city. The mountain stands at a height of 262 meters and covers a large area, providing plenty of space for recreational activities.
Here are some points of interest on Namsan Mountain:
N Seoul Tower: This is probably the most well-known attraction on Namsan Mountain. Also known as Namsan Tower or Seoul Tower, it's a communication and observation tower located on the summit of the mountain. The tower is equipped with an observatory which provides panoramic views of Seoul and the surrounding areas. There are also several restaurants and shops within the tower.
Namsan Cable Car: This gondola lift system provides an easy and scenic route to the top of the mountain.
Walking Trails: Namsan Mountain features many well-maintained trails that are perfect for a hike or leisurely walk. There's even a circuit path that goes all the way around the mountain.
Palgakjeong Pavilion: This traditional Korean-style octagonal pavilion offers breathtaking views of the city and is a great spot to rest while exploring the mountain.
Namsan Botanical Garden: A wide variety of plants and flowers can be found in this large garden, which is especially beautiful in the spring.
Statue of Admiral Yi Sun-Shin and Seoul Fortress Wall: The statue of Admiral Yi Sun-Shin, a famous naval commander, is located near the base of the mountain. Also, parts of the old Seoul Fortress Wall run along the mountain.
