About this spot
Sardine Lake is a gem in the Sierra lakes region. Easy access to the lake shore of lower Sardine lake promises incredible views of the majestic Sierra Buttes in the background to the west. The area was once home to a gold mining operation, but now it's a favorite spot of fisherman and photographers. If you have high clearance four wheel drive, you can drive up to upper Sardine Lake, or you can walk the 1 mile trail.
Note: During winter months, Gold Lake Highway is closed to vehicle traffic. The spot is only accessible via snowmobile or snowshoe.
