About this spot
Red Rocks Amphitheatre is the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheatre in the world and is is a geological phenomenon. Mother Nature is the architect here and the amphitheatre is created by two, three hundred-foot monoliths (Ship Rock and Creation Rock) that provide the acoustic perfection performances here are renowned for - many artists have played here and aspire to play here since it first opened in 1941. The venue sits at 6,450 feet above sea level at the point where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains. The surrounding parkland allows visitors to see plants, birds and animals of both regions. The amphitheatre has also become a popular place for daily exercise between concerts and events.
