About this spot
You often see flower vendors peddling through the streets of Hanoi. Their first stop in the morning is Quang Ba Flower Market, Hanoi’s main marketplace for fresh-cut flowers. While the rest of Hanoi is asleep, the flower market is in full swing. It is open 2-4 a.m. for wholesalers and retailers start at 4 a.m.

Many of the flowers come from the nearby provinces but they also receive shipments from China, Thailand, Netherlands, and South Africa. You will see roses, mums, lilies, gerbera daisies, tulips, sunflowers, and orchids as well as other flowers that change with the seasons.

In Hanoi, flowers are used to decorate homes and office spaces, but they are also used for offerings in temples and altars in people’s homes. During Tet and the monthly full moon, the flower market is especially busy.
