About this spot
The two chequered cast-iron lighthouses at Port Glasgow mark a sharp bend in the channel of the Upper Clyde leading into Glasgow. They were established in 1861 for the Clyde Lighthouses Trust.

There are several photogenic spots within a short walk here. There is a second lighthouse, a pier and a castle, although the castle does have a shipyard behind it, so some angles can be marred by working cranes.
