About this spot
The Pont du Gard is a Roman aqueduct that was later extended to a bridge. The building is located just south of the town of Vers-Pont-du-Gard in France, not far from Nîmes and Uzès, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The colossal structure demonstrates Roman architectural ingenuity. It is 49 meters high and consists of three levels, the top of which is 275 meters long. The waterbed is covered with stone slabs.
