About this spot
Plaça de la Seu is situated in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, one of the city's oldest and most historic neighborhoods. The most prominent feature of Plaça de la Seu is the Barcelona Cathedral (Catedral de Barcelona). The cathedral, officially known as the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, is a magnificent example of Catalan Gothic architecture. It dates back to the 13th century and is dedicated to Saint Eulalia, the co-patron saint of Barcelona.

Like many historic squares in Barcelona, Plaça de la Seu often attracts street performers and artists. You can encounter musicians, artists, living statues, and other entertainers adding to the lively atmosphere.

Views: The square provides excellent views of the cathedral's façade and its many intricate details. It's a great place to admire the architecture and take photographs.
