About this spot
Plaça Reial is situated in the Gothic Quarter (Barri Gòtic) of Barcelona, one of the city's oldest and most iconic neighborhoods. It is centrally located and easily accessible on foot from various parts of the city center. The square is renowned for its elegant and neoclassical architecture. The centerpiece of the square is the Fountain of the Three Graces (Fuente de las Tres Gracias), which is surrounded by palm trees and rows of elegant, arcaded buildings with ornate facades. The buildings feature beautiful balconies with wrought-iron railings, which add to the charm of the square. Plaça Reial is notable for being one of the early works of the world-famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. He designed the lampposts in the square, which showcase his distinctive style and are adorned with intricate details.
