About this spot
Pekel Gorge or Hell Gorge is a 1,5 kilometer long gorge in central Slovenia, located near the village of Borovnica and 23 km from Ljubljana. The creek has created many erosion features such as pools, rapids, and waterfalls, of which five are very beautiful. They plunge from 20 to 5 m. It has been proclaimed a natural value of national significance. Summers in the gorge are pleasantly chilly, and in the winter the nature creates incredible ice sculptures on the stream, which are tackled by ice-climbers. Of course, spring and autumn have their charms as well.
