About this spot
The Museum of Liverpool opened in 2011, and the modern design (from architects 3XN) contrasts enormously with the historic "Three Graces" immediately to the north.
The design reminded me a little of the Oslo Opera House (with light coloured cladding and large windows) but that was designed by a different agency, Snøhetta.
For all its photographic attraction, the design was widely criticised upon opening, with Rowan Moore from the Guardian describing it as a "Godawful mess"
