The lighthouse stands proudly on a 260 foot high cliff at the most southerly part of Scotland. At 26 metres high and 99 metres above sea level it is an outstanding building. Know locally as Stevenson’s Tower it was first lit March 26th1830. It is considered one of Scotland’s outstanding lighthouse’s.
