About this spot
"Mother Armenia" is a somewhat imposing statue located above the city in Victory Park. The large pedestal (designed by architect Rafayel Israyelian) was originally home to a statue of Stalin, however this was removed in 1962.
In 1967, Ara Harutyunyans' "Mother Armenia" was subsequently installed in place. The overall height of the monument is 51 metres, with the statue forming 22 metres of this.
