Shoot with care
NC-12 is a two lane highway with a very narrow paved shoulder. The distance from the travel lane to the bridge abutment is about three ft/1 m on the bridge. If you are shooting from the bridge walk up onto the bridge with traffic (contrary to most advice to walk against traffic.) From there you can see approaching vehicles behind you and either leave the bridge or cross to the other side. The road is not heavily traveled except when a ferry is arriving at Cedar Island to the north or on summer holiday weekends. It is unlawful to climb onto the bridge structure outside of the road portion.
The bridge is located in the Cedar Island NWR and federal regulations apply including banning of drones.

About this spot
This is very flat, low country. It is difficult to find an elevation from which to shoot landscapes, or to find a subject that is much higher than sea level. The bridge provides that elevation and is a good subject in itself.
