Mohammed Al Ameen mosque, commonly known as Bahwan Mosque is not as famous and popular mosque as the Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Muscat, but also worth a visit. Mohammed Al Ameen mosque is often mistaken by visitors to Muscat as the Grand Mosque due to its striking location in Bawshar that can be seen from almost any highway going towards Muscat.
Mosque is also open for non-Muslims. Opening hours for visitors are weekdays 8-11am.
Dress code: Ladies should wear full sleeves shirt, head should be covered with scarf. Men should wear full pants, not allowed to wear shorts.
