About this spot
Mendenhall Glacier (also called Sitaantaagu) is 13.6 miles (21.9 km) long located in the Mendenhall Valley, about 12 miles (19 km) from Juneau (Alaska). The glacier and surrounding landscape is protected as part of Tongass National Forest.
The majority of tourists enjoy the Glacier from the East by the “visitors Centre”. Its surely a nice and easy way to have a look and take pictures of the Glacier.
This spot tough, is out of the beaten track and is the starting point of the West Glacier Trail, a path that will take you face to face with the Glacier
