Shoot with care
This is a very friendly town used to visitors from all over the country. However, it is a place of business for many small business owners who are trying to make a living. No large corporate businesses are allowed on Main Street Placerville. These businesses are all family owned.

About this spot
This town was created during the early days of the California Gold rush in the 1840's. Gold was discovered approximately 12 miles from Placerville and Placerville became known as Old Dry Diggin's and the county seat. The name was changed to Hangtown due to three men being found guilty of horse thievery and were hung. The name was later changed to Placerville.
