Lyveden Manor or Lyveden New Bield is a Grade 1 Listed building in the care of the National Trust. It is was built by Sir Thomas Tresham c 1604/5 - the building contains a wealth of religious symbolism & was a way of him expressing his Catholic faith at a time of intense persecution for Catholics. Tresham was a member of a family allied to those involved in the Gunpowder Plot
