Lichtenstein Castle is a privately owned Gothic Revival castle located in the Swabian Jura of southern Germany.
It's a very picturesque castle with an abundance of photo opportunities and coincidentally also a very popular Instagram location. I've added a selection of my photos as inspiration: this castle is both inside and outside very photogenic, and since the restorations works have been completed a joy to pick out details!
A visit inside the castle is very much advices, not specifically for the photos but to admire the lavishly decorated rooms.
The famous spot for the Lichtenstein foto is inside the castle ground on a guard tower at the far end looking back towards the castle and the valley below. This is where the iconic Lichtenstein photo is made. To enter you will have to pay an entrance fee.
