About this spot
The Kazan Kremlin is a unique historical and architectural complex and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a symbol of the rich history and diverse culture of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Located at the heart of Kazan, the Kremlin is the oldest part of the city, with its origins dating back to the Muslim period of the Golden Horde in the 12th century.

The Kazan Kremlin is a fortress with a complex of historical and architectural monuments of the 16th to 19th centuries, including remnants of earlier structures that date back to the 10th century. Its white limestone walls and towers give it a distinctive character that sets it apart from other Kremlins in Russia.

One of the main attractions of the Kazan Kremlin is the Kul Sharif Mosque, named after the last imam of the Khanate of Kazan. It's not just one of the largest mosques in Russia, but also one of the most beautiful. The mosque is a blend of modern and traditional architectural styles, with a combination of blue and white colors, four minarets, and a central dome.
