The Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan (The south Merdeka Road) is a modern, wide busy road on the south side of Merdeka Square in Jakarta. Walking aloing the road will give you interesting views of several sights of the downtown, modern skyscrapers, the Arjuna Wijaya statue, The National Monument, the Merdeka Sq and even people shots - there are several city busses parked here and the uniformed drivers are having a rest and a meal in the shade.
