About this spot
South of Munich the Isar river is surrounded by elevations at its left and right and sometimes the woods open up and let you catch a glimpse into the Isar valley. From this spot you see the monastery Schäftlarn located at the riverside, and if you are lucky, the Alps in a distance of about 60 km with Germany's highest mountain (Zugspitze, 2.962m) at the right edge of the mountain chain.
