About this spot
The Hórreo de Carnota is one of the most emblematic and well-known hórreos in Galicia, Spain. A hórreo is a traditional granary built in wood or stone, raised from the ground by pillars (pegs) ending in flat staddle stones to prevent access by rodents. Ventilation is allowed by the slits in its walls.

Located in the town of Carnota, in the Province of A Coruña, the Hórreo de Carnota is famous for being one of the longest of its kind, with some sources stating it measures around 35 meters (115 feet) in length, although various measurements have been reported over time. It was constructed in the 18th century and is an excellent example of Galician vernacular architecture.
