About this spot
Hoi An has been called the prettiest town in Vietnam and as you wander the cobbled streets in Old Town you can see why. Most of the old traditional houses are painted a golden yellow and decorated by lanterns and blooming flowers. Old Town has its share of religious buildings, markets, and shops. Most of this section of town is both bicycle and pedestrian friendly.

The Old Town dates back to the 15th century when it was an international hub of commerce for the spice trade, high quality silks, handcrafted objects, and minerals. The area today covers 30 hectares and houses 1,300+ old homes with tiled roofs. The area is bordered by Phan Chu Trinh Street to the north, Thu Bon River to the south, Hoang Dieu Street to the east and Cao Hong Lanh Street to the west.
