About this spot
This masterpiece of architecture was completed in 2012. It was named after the first president of Azerbaijan following the Soviet period. The famous British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid was appointed to design this building which is a multi purpose centre including a library and a concert hall. It is one of several astonishing works of modern architecture to be found around the city of Baku.
